I have collected sports memorabilia since I was a kid in the mid-1970’s and know that the slightest flaw in a piece of sports memorabilia can cause a significant loss of value. Have you priced a 10 graded card verses a 9? How about an autographed picture in pristine condition with vibrant color verses one with a crease and/or is faded? Did you know that the majority of autographs are done with a sharpie? Did you also know that autographs with a sharpie are notorious for fading? Do you know how to delay the fading process? I do, and I can help protect your valuable autographs. There are even pens in the store that are specifically made for autographs with ink that is fade resistant.
One of the most popular pieces of autographed sports memorabilia are autographed jerseys. Always ask how your jersey will be mounted. Some shops will staple them in, tape them in, and even use adhesives to hold them in place. At This and That Custom Framing, each jersey has a custom cut acid-free foamboard insert to keep the jersey’s shape and prevent sagging. Only 99% UV reflective glass is used so your jersey and autograph is protected from the fading process, and only acid-free conservation grade matboard is used that is fade and bleed resistant. Only the best materials are used to protect your jersey, and everything that is done is reversible and does not harm or alter your jersey.
